These products will complement the popular Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy Review Book and the BCPP Prep Series as methods of preparing for the BCPP exam.
Developing Effective Test-Taking Skills, a 2-hour webinar presented by nationally recognized experts in standardized exam preparation, will be held on June 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. CST. The webinar focuses on how standardized tests are written and constructed, developing appropriate techniques for answering standardized questions more accurately, identifying common issues in testing that may be hurting your performance, and analyzing your testing performance to improve accuracy, pacing, and endurance. The Psychiatric Specialty Mock Exam is composed of 150 practice questions written and reviewed by BCPPs*. The questions are based on the content domains and knowledge statements included in the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) content outline. An answer key containing answers/explanations, references, domains, and knowledge statements is provided. The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) updated the recertification framework to include continuing professional development (CPD) requirements for BCPPs starting a new certification cycle in 2024. This includes pharmacists newly certified in 2023 and BCPPs who successfully recertified in 2023. The framework will be applied each year to pharmacists starting a new 7-year certification cycle until it is applicable to all BCPPs. BPS defines CPD as a commitment to lifelong learning and it includes several phases: reflect, plan, learn, evaluate, apply.
BCPPs who start a new certification cycle in 2024 and forward must record their annual reflection and plan in their MyBPS profile and earn a minimum of 2 units via CPD activities or assessed continuing pharmacy education (CPE) during each year of their cycle. AAPP recertification and CPE products can count toward your CPD plan as long as they align with the BPS Psychiatric Pharmacy Content Outline and the necessary plan, reflect, and evaluate components are completed.
