Tom Blue, Executive Director
In the fall of 2009, Tom Blue joined the AAPP as the Executive Director. He brings a passion and vision for the industry that has brought momentum and expansion to the organization.
Mr. Blue believes this is an exciting time for the AAPP with the explosive growth in the field of private medicine. “We see private medicine as the “tip of the spear” – leading the way for benefits of new technology and innovation to reach patients. What you can do for patients is very exciting when you combine the luxury of time with technology and a thorough understanding of the individual.
Recognized as an authority, Mr. Blue is a frequent speaker on the topics of concierge and fee-for-service medicine and employee health risk management. He has appeared on Fox Morning News, ABC News, CNET Live Radio, The New York Times, Industry Standard, Wired and numerous other programs and publications.
In addition to his work with the AAPP, Mr. Blue serves on the board of LifeSpring Foundation, The Titan Group and Virginia Commonwealth University Intellectual Property Foundation. He is CEO of n1Health, LLC where he advises firms on how to enter private medicine.
Shelly Banyay, Managing Director
Ms. Banyay, a long time marketing specialist, has been involved with AAPP since the beginning and has transitioned along side the board from SIMPD. In addition to working in print production for one of the largest privately held ad agencies in the country, Ms. Banyay has managed large accounts for over 15 years with creative and logistical success. With a focus on direct and conceptual marketing, her account list included high profile international accounts as well as domestic partners with demanding projects and deadlines. In addition, Ms. Banyay has managed 80+ freelance writers, designers and production associates over the years for her clients.
Ms. Banyay has more recently served as Marketing Director for an organization that managed healthcare conferences. Her area of expertise is conference marketing and logistics management. Her events are nationwide and she is responsible for marketing, membership, logistics and overall organization growth.
Shelly resides in Rockville, VA, has two sons, Logan and Ryan and a very happy Chocolate Lab named Lucy.
